Getting treatment through Ascendra Wellness is not like buying something from an ordinary online shop. There is a medical review in the middle of it, carried out by a licensed provider, and it decides whether treatment goes ahead. Here is exactly what happens.
Step 1 — Choose a program
Browse our programs and select the one that matches what you're looking for. Nothing is ordered at this point, and choosing a program does not mean it will be prescribed to you.
Step 2 — Complete your medical intake
You'll be asked to complete an intake form covering your medical history, current medications and supplements, allergies, and your health goals. Some programs ask for more information than others.
Answer completely and truthfully, including whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and the state you are physically located in. A provider can only make a safe decision with accurate information, and your location determines whether they are able to treat you at all.
Step 3 — A licensed provider reviews your information
Your intake goes to an independent licensed healthcare provider in the Beluga Health provider network (belugahealth.com), a LegitScript-certified telehealth network. Ascendra Wellness does not make this decision and cannot influence it.
The provider will do one of the following:
- approve treatment, if they judge it medically appropriate for you;
- ask you for more information;
- recommend a different treatment than the one you selected;
- refer you for in-person care;
- decline treatment.
Step 4 — If approved, your prescription goes to a pharmacy
Only after a provider has approved treatment is a prescription issued and sent to one of our partner pharmacies — The Pharmacy Hub (thepharmacyhub.com) or WES Digital, both independent licensed pharmacies.
The pharmacy reviews and accepts the prescription, prepares the medication, and is responsible for labelling, packaging, storage and dispensing. Ascendra Wellness does not compound, dispense or ship medication.
Step 5 — Your medication ships
The pharmacy ships directly to you. Delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees, and depend on the pharmacy and the carrier.
Medication is only shipped to locations where it is authorised. We cannot ship to a state where our providers or pharmacies are not licensed, or where the treatment is not permitted.
Step 6 — Ongoing care
Your prescriptions and your messages with your provider are kept in your patient portal, which you can reach from the Patient Portal link at the top of this site. Refills and follow-up care are handled there.
Being approved is not guaranteed
This is the part worth being clear about. Completing an intake, paying a fee, or selecting a program does not mean you will receive medication. A provider may decide treatment isn't appropriate for you, and that decision is theirs to make.
If that happens, they may suggest an alternative, ask for more information, or recommend you see someone in person. We'll tell you either way.
When you're charged
You are not charged until a licensed provider has reviewed your information and approved treatment. If a provider does not approve treatment, no payment is taken.
The price shown for each program includes the medical consultation. There is no separate consultation fee to pay on top of it, and the full price is shown before you complete your order.
Our services are self-pay. We do not bill insurance, and we can't guarantee that your insurance, HSA or FSA will reimburse you. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
Where we can serve you
We serve patients in every U.S. state except Alaska and Hawaii, where we are not currently able to offer services.
If you are located in one of those states, we won't be able to treat you, and any order placed from there will be cancelled and refunded.
About compounded medication
Depending on your provider's judgment and what's available, your treatment may involve an FDA-approved medication or a compounded one.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed. Formulations, concentrations and packaging can differ between pharmacies and between prescriptions, so always follow the instructions from your provider and the dispensing pharmacy rather than general information on this website.
What we are, and what we are not
Ascendra Wellness operates this platform and handles the administrative side — the website, your order, and support. We are not a medical practice, a physician, a pharmacy or a dispensing facility.
Your clinical relationship is with the provider who treats you, and your medication comes from a licensed pharmacy. For questions about side effects, dosing or your prescription, contact your treating provider or the dispensing pharmacy directly — our support team can't answer clinical questions.
In an emergency
We do not provide emergency care and we do not monitor patients continuously. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Please don't use our contact form, email or support chat to report an urgent problem — nobody is watching those channels around the clock.
If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
